My point is why would Cougar fans attack the family of one of the best players we have had in recent memory. It doesn’t benefit the program and these people see the comments. The Wilsons have donated to the program, Zach helps with recruiting, and while there is a slim chance Isaac ever goes to BYU, BYU probably has a higher chance than any other university of getting him. Love him or hate him BYJew is at BYU because of Zach. The comments just don’t make sense to me. The Jets fans and media haven’t treated the Wilson’s well. The Utes fans haven’t been great. And now we have BYU fans everywhere trashing Isaac.
Seems like people don’t always follow the Prophet. Well, some follow the profit. We can complain during games but when we look at the body of work and the real big picture, only in our 2nd season with the Big12 we are 9-1, 6-1 in league. I wonder if Colorado fans are attacking their coaches?
My only problem with Thawk is that he is a downer almost all the time. I don’t mind criticism but I like to see some balance. He sounds like somebody who thinks BYU should be a blue blood program. Realistically that’s probably not going to happen. If it can happen without compromising your core values I would love to see it. When your team is 9-1 in a power 4 conference enjoy the ride and stop overreacting to one loss.
BYU has been far better than I expected. Retzlaff has been far better than I expected. If they win the next two I will be thrilled.
I was as disappointed as anybody with the loss but it is one game and I don’t care about the close calls. A win is a win.
All that said everybody can say what they want. Larimer and Fish seem to have a very balanced take on things. They are very knowledgeable but have a more balanced tone than THawk who only seems to show up to bag on BYU. That’s my opinion for what it is worth.
thawk may sound negative but don’t lose sight of the fact that he also wants BYU to be the best they can be and when he recognizes a problem that could potentially be fixed he is speaking up. I think everyone who understands football recognizes that there are deficiencies in the offense and they are mostly a result of puzzling play calls at inopportune times and erratic play from the QB. I think it is okay to point those things out.
If they can be fixed, great. If not then it is time to explore other options. Nothing wrong with suggesting that. I also think people misunderstand what a fan board is. ChiCougar wants everyone to be nice and I think they are for the most part on this board. Fan boards are meant to have opinions expressed and civil discussion to take place. That is what happens here… mostly.
Well, almost every gets to have an opinion. When Twack does it, he’s praised for solving what he perceives is a problem that can be solved by firing everybody. At 9-1 he wants to fire everybody. To me, Aro has the best understanding of BYU and what we have and what we can do. Now, when I have an opinion, well….

Why would anyone attack Wilson’s family? They are like most people “trying to live their lives how they see fit”. I have 3 cousins that went to Utah University and are avid Ute fans. I’m a BYU alum and they don’t have any negativity towards me or I to them. This is a public forum-you will hear all kinds of drivel just like you would anywhere else. Ignore it and continue to post

- I like THawk’s takes. I think he is smart and knows the game and willing to say what he thinks–which you sagely point out is the entire point of a FAN OPINION board.

Can someone explain this Wilson interaction that was terrible? I can already tell you they were justified without knowing the details but someone spill the tea anyway.
