So you are a Wilson?
No one on Cougarfan disparaged Zach. I think got cougarfan mixed up with some other website.
We have all been proud of Zach, what he did for BYU, and that he was drafted #2. Too bad he ended up with the Jets, the place were QBs careers go to die. Some of the things he did in NY turned the fanbase against him, I think there was a maturity issue, Wilson was not ready for primetime. now he is stuck behind a red hot Bo Nix. Hopefully he can continue to grow, compete and find a good future in the NFL.
I know when Zach was drafted by the Jets, there was a lot of chatter online in the Jetsosphere about his momās Instagram account. There was a lot of embarrassing stuff (videos of her twerking at a wedding reception, etc.), and she and the family donāt seem active or believing LDS. And, Zach with his influencer girlfriend and their travels ā and the saga with the girlfriend from BYU who left Zach for a BYU receiver who got drafted (canāt remember his name). The details of which were such that online Jets fans were confused, because Zach and mama Zach were supposed to be Mormons, so why were they living and acting like Real Housewives of Salt Lake? Zach and mama Zach also didnāt deny the rumors about Zach having an affair with one of her friends in Utah.
Heās not really a good ambassador for BYU or the Church, in my view. The Wilsonās have always been diehard Utes, and only cheered for BYU when Zach played for us.
I donāt think Iāve ever lost more brain cells than reading this thread. Iād rather have had a beer and I donāt like or drink beer!
I was going to say that ChiCougar is not Zachās brother but is clearly related to h. Brother? Sister? Hās feral twin?
Iāve never laughed harder at any post than ChiCougars now infamous 8 words - that I will not repeat out of respect for mine and the sane people on this site. Canāt make this stuff up.
How do you feel about Jim McMahon? Or, Max Hall and the troubles he had for a while after graduation? Looks like Max is doing well. He was on BYUSN today. Give people room to grow, improve, repent and they will come along. Give them the finger and they end up never growing spiritually.
We had this lady in our ward that did something bad. As time moved along, she wanted to return. Every time sheād show up, there was someone in the ward that would see her and go up and tell her off and to get lost. It took many years before she finally stuck around and put the finger back into the other person who then went inactive. Hate in any form destroys.
Additionally, what Zach and his mom did or did not do has nothing to do with Isaac. Should we all start judging people based on their family member actions? Scratch this job resume. I heard a rumor about his brother.
That is typically done out in the world. Itās wrong but people go by āthe apple doesnāt drop very far from the tree.ā As you can see in several comments from the posters.
Appreciate your comments that are closer to reality. I try not to judge people, so if it involves childish discussions, mostly likely I donāt respond. Everyone sees things from their own perspectives. I sure wouldnāt judge anyone on someone elseās opinion. There are quite a few posts that I enjoy reading, even if I donāt necessarily agree, but defamation of anyone leaves a bad spirit in my consciousness
Jim McMahon was in a different time period. BYU ALLOWED his behavior as long as it didnāt hit the press. Jim biggest issue was drinking and partying. Nothing really bad.
As for Max Hall and his addiction, I will never judge him for having an addiction, coming from a family with addiction issues, I can be a little more understanding and sympathetic for what he was dealing with.
Why do you even bring it up? There is a BIG difference between someone who has an addiction problem and someone who makes poor choices in the way they act and live. I have no clue if Zach slept with his momās friend, frankly I donāt care.
Funny how you separate what you would call big sins and small sins when the brethren have said small sins lead to bigger sins. Iām glad Hall has been able to turn his life around which was my point. The same for Jim. Hope you allow the Wilsonās to do the same thing. Zach looks like heās doing just that.
I also reject the idea that things were different back in those days. The honor code was just as tough as it is now. In fact, Iād say itās better handled to day than back in those days. Perhaps your uncle just let it slide.
Hallās addiction began with pain killers from his injuries. Itās very easy for people to get hooked on them. If their use isnāt strictly monitored, itās easy for it to happen. That is completely different from choosing to drink until they are addicted. In either case, itās very difficult to get off either once it starts. What helps is friends and family sticking with them and helping them. Sometimes tough love is necessary for a time being. It doesnāt help with grown adults beating down people for addictions and/or not living up to elite demands.
I feel bad for Max Hall he got addicted to pain killers after getting the prescribed to him by a doctor. this is a trap many people fell into because of the lies told about them about the drug.
@grasshopper I canāt tell if your fanning ignorance or if itās real, but it keeps trying to suck me in.
I think he is talking about how people back then would turn a blind eye because of who he was.
People today probably ignore a lot too. Nothing has changed.
People get hooked as much today as 40 years ago. Itās still a killer. With Fentanyl, even worse.
I know which 8 words you are referring to and I wonāt repeat them for the same reasons, but yeah that was hilarious.
Rubicons post was interesting and informative as well. I didnāt know those things but am not surprised at all.
Utah was using their 5th string QB because everyone else was hurt or disabled somehow.
Talk about being snake bit.
I am interested to see how Isaac reacts to the season, will he hit the transfer portal? or stand by the team that stood by him when he was thrown in the deep end without a paddle?
Very few true freshman succeed playing in their freshman year, Isaac had to learn the speed of the game is different than in high school. I hope he stays, I think he could end up being one of Utahās better QB in their history.
They are in full swing finding a new OC, wonder if the they contacted their old player turned NFL coach Johnson yet?
